FAQ

Do I need a Financial Advisor?

Do you have financial or personal goals for yourself, your family, or your business? If yes, a financial advisor can help you reach those desired goals. Plus, financial advice isn't just for the wealthy. We are here to help you gain wealth and sustain it.

Who is not a good fit for OCM?

Unfriendly people! Seriously, we love working with positive people that are serious about reaching their personal and financial goals and are open to new ideas.

Who will I work with?

You can choose to work with either of us. Nevertheless, know that we are a team that works closely on many plans. As such, clients benefit from our nearly 50 years of combined financial services experience.

Do clients need to live in Eastern NC?

Absolutely not. With today's connectivity, we can provide high levels of engagement with clients across the country. Many of OCM's existing clients reside in a state other than North Carolina.

Do you have a minimum account size?

No minimum account size is required.

What if I already have an advisor?

Great! You've taken an important first step in reaching your financial goals. Though, much like in the world of medicine, it often makes sense to get a "second opinion" from other professionals in the industry.

Ever been disciplined for unethical or unlawful actions in your career?

No, we have not. We encourage you to use FINRA's BrokerCheck tool when conducting due diligence on financial advisors.

Why should we work with you and not another firm?

  • We work in a genuinely independent business model (see True Independence below)
  • Due to the structure of our team, we will provide clients continuity for decades to come.
  • We offer multi-generational planning (Rob is a Baby Boomer, Jay is a Millennial).
  • We give consumers flexibility and transparency concerning our compensation.
  • We employ a clear, consistent, and rules-based approach to investment management.
  • We endeavor to make your money work for you, with your financial goals in mind.
  • Finally, we love what we do!
